All 4 of my college degrees and each career step, in my not straight path to become a pelvic floor physical therapist, contributed to who I am today and my overall outlook on life. I pull from my Psychology degree, the firm belief that physical therapy is 75% psychology. If my patients don’t understand the “why” behind my rational for each movement and the purpose of each step, they will not be motivated to work to the best of their abilities and therefore not derive the maximum benefits for their efforts. If they are going to invest their valuable time in their therapy, both with me and with their Home Exercise Program, I feel that it is my job to excite them and motivate them to reach their peak performance level.
